I ran into an Alum and she wanted to know if any of you would be interested in being a "Mother's Helper". She needs someone 2 days a week Monday - Thursday (You Pick your 2 days) for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. She lives in Chino Hills and has 2 adorable children a 4 1/2 and a 15 month old. This would include light house cleaning.

Hi Sisters!!

Okay So I am posting your Littles. I didnt get requests from all of you, and some I got really late. It was really hard to pick since we didnt all meet all of them, and so basing it off a picture and major is difficult. But I am so happy you are all doing this, reguardless of if you got your number one choice remember you are making a big difference in these girls sorority experience and we can totally change the way AXO is for them!!

I tired to be a fair as possible but it is hard choosing at all when I dont know any of them either =/

They are emailing me their surveys and I will email them to you when your littles survey comes in. Some surveys are at the house.

The way the gifts will work is you will bring them to our house and a few of us will drive them out each time so feel free to volunteer with me. As soon as possiable I would like to set up and INSPIRATION NIGHT for us to reveal ourselves. I will keep you posted with additional dates so check back here for feedback!

Gifts!! We are trying to keep this to a minimum so it doesnt get out of control so save extra gifts for after inspo night.

Mud Run!

Hey sisters!!

My roommate is apart of the women's rugby team here and wanted me to help spread the word about the Irvine Lake Mud Run coming up April 10th. It is the first annual mud run where groups complete a 3.8 mile mud filled course which includes a foam machine, mud pits, tire obstacles, and more. Groups are encouraged to dress up in matching costumes for example togas, tutus, anything creative and fun! And you can stay after for a concert hosted by KROQ. It should be so much fun!! For more information I'll put flyers on the lyre table and there is even a $15 off discount for entering the code CSUFRUGBY when you register!

It is a weeklong event and the Subway we are doing it at is open 24 hrs!!! So stop in for lunch, breakfast, dinner or all three! I first would like to thank everyone who has come out for the past month or so. We got the news that we will be playing 7v7 for Greek week and will only be able to hold a roster of 10. I am holding a tentative roster of 14 and a few people will be cut as we get closer. The competition is really high and this was a difficult decision. a. President

I. Chapter Retreat Survey- please fill out your chapter retreat survey and return it as soon as possible.

II. Phi Sigs BBQ Thursday at 5:00 (March 4th) this is mandatory, they are our greek week partners. It is at their house.

III. Song Workshop- you need to come into CRS if you cannot make it to the song work shop this saturday.

b. VP- Chapter Relations and Standards

I. Bylaw Revisions- they are due Monday March 8th. Make sure that you say which section they are from

c. VP- Finance

I. Tip of the Week- FICA Taxes.

II. Convention Scholarships- we can send some of the women from our chapter on a partial- full scholarship, so please make sure to fill out an application if you are interested )before next monday)

* July 9-12 is convention. There is part time and full time registration

d. VP- Fraternity Relations- HAPPY HERA DAY

I. Pancake Breakfast- It was very successful, so thank you for all your hard work. Please turn in your ticket money as soon as possible.

II. National Visitor- Saturday is our song workshop at 10am-12pm. It is very important that you be there, or call yourself into CRS tonight.

III. Mother/Daughter Tea- May 16th at the sorority house

IV. Father/Daughter Baseball- April 25th game at Cal State Fullerton at 1pm

*MADD walk is May 9, 2010. The team is made, and it is mandatory that we all walk for our team.

e. VP- Education

I. Senior in the Hot Seat- Kristen Jones. Fall 06. Fanorite memory was her first Greek Week. She advises her sister to learn from every experience. She will never forget the Wedding song or the symphony.

II. Did You Know? Audra was featured on Alpha Chi's facebook page, and they have a biography on her. We are so lucky to have her coming to our house. Come with a good attitude, and make the best of our day so we can take advantage of this great opportunity.

III. Trivia- There are 11 rooms in the house, we have been on the CSUF campus for 41 years, our three stars represent faith hope and love, we raise money for our philanthropy through catch a chi mr alpha chi booths on campus the madd walk and the pancake breakfast.

f. VP- Intellectual Development

I. Study Logs- Those of you who didn't make grades study logs are due next formal meeting. Study hours will also be available in the library

II. A and B Papers- on the lyre table there is a box, and we will be drawing for smarty panties.

g. VP- Communications

I. Composites- March 22, sign up for your time in the sign up book, from 3-7.

II. Scrapbook Pictures- save money, and try to print out 5 pictures each from sisterhood events, philanthropy and mixers and make sure to put them in Casey's box.

h. VP- Membership Development

I. Senior Banquet- May. There is a list of seniors who are going alum, so write a letter by March 15th if you would like to take a secret senior sis. There may be multiple secret sis's for one person.

II. Attitudes- please be sure to have a positive attitude toward the women, hashers and advisors that help us out. These people do a lot for us, so make sure to make them feel welcome and appreciated.

VII. 85% Participation- A D Pi broom ball event is important for our chapter to attend. (If you would like to try out please see Erin) There is also the Crescent Classic week for Gamma Phi Beta March 23-25 (23- Round table 24- pancake breakfast 25- family feud). Saturday is ZTA's monte carlo night.

j. VP- Recruitment

I. Recruitment Clothes Checks- a $25 check is due tonight if you are on the payment plan

II. Rho Chi Applications- Due TSU rm 235 by March 12th. You must be enrolled in classes if you are going to apply to be a rho chi.

k. VP- Risk Management

I. There is dry chi forms in the red book. If you are a sober driver you may fill out the form in the book. There is going to be a raffle.

II. Next meeting we are going to sit next to our lyre sister and take a pledge.

III. Self defense chi connection on March 22, the same day as composites, in the rec center.

IV. March 4th is the sig ep mixer, and we will be doing 5 alive.

V. Facts on alcohol- more than 100,000 US deaths are related to alcohol consumption. Traffic causes are the single greatest cause for people 18-36. Youths who consume alcohol are 50 times more likely to consume cocaine than those who do not.

*Diana- GW IN- If you can't make it to greek week you need to turn in your excuse tonight, and go into CRS. Thank you so much for your participation in bringing in cans, but keep pushing. We are going to start separating cans, so if you are available Wednesday at 5 your help would be appreciated. Next Monday $15 from every girl made out to Alpha Chi Omega is due. Good job on the turn out to the pancake breakfast. Keep going to practices!

*Jenna- GW OUT and SOCIAL- The rules will be voted on this week for soccer. Wednesday- can castles and chalk murals kick off at night. Thursday soccer. Friday volleyball. Saturday Football. Sunday lip sync. Mixer this thursday at OC sports grill from 9-midnight. you need to be there by 9.30. It is $9.50 to go. Next Tuesday is the Irvine Improv as a sisterhood event.

*Sandy- Thank you to those of you guys who donated milk, we were able to donate the rest to the women's transitional living center. Make sure to collect all of your lost and found items from the formal living room, or they will also be donated. Friday is Fall 09's bonding event at Huntington beach.

*Liz- The pancake breakfast was a real success. Thank you all so much for all of your help at the pancake breakfast. Please turn in your money by the end of tonight for the pancake breakfast. we made $168 in tips. With the girls who have already turned in their money we raised $913. Donation letters for Catch a Chi will be available on the sister log in. Your basket is going to be worth 10 positive points, and need to be worth at least $25 per girl.

MIXER IDEA!!

Hey I was talking to my friend from another school and when they have mixers this is what they do:

Each girl writes the top three people they would like to be assigned to. Whoever is in charge can sort it out who get person gets. (almost like the process for picking a mysta or a little but less strenuous)

Each girl is assigned to another sister in their sorority. For instance if I was assigned to Kristin. Kristin will not know I am assigned to her. It is my job to pick a fraternity guy as her date/partner for the mixer. There will be a theme for the mixer and each person going will have a piece of clothing that is decorated (hats for instance). It is my job to make matching hats for Kristin and her date. At the mixer, Kristin will find her date by looking for the fraternity boy that has the same hat on as her.

Its a great way to get people to interact with each other and its fun!

Philanthropy Chair- our philanthropy booth at discover fest was very successful. Thank you for your hard work! we raised a lot of money, and got the word out about our philanthropy.

Fundraising- get work off for the pancake breakfast on Feb 28th (10-1). make sure you sell your tickets! Fall 09- pancake mix and paper plates. Fall 08- beverages and cups. Fall 07- sausage and napkins. Fall 06- utensils, and napkins etc. It is up to us to make this fundraiser a success! This counts for other sororities 85% participation for philanthropy so be sure to mention that to them when selling your tickets!!!!

Greek Week- our theme is TV stations. we are ABC! the Phi sigs are our partners, so show your enthusiasm when you see them around campus! Practices have had great turn outs, so thank you so much girls! we need to also focus our attention on volleyball (friday and sunday practices from 9-11 am)! Thank you to everyone who went to Chillis. thanks to DOD who donated $20 worth of change! good job with cans, we have excellent participation! Pancake breakfast is absolutely mandatory! Soccer 7:00 at Tamarack on Tuesday. April 14-18 is Greek Week! Go over your cheers!

Phi sig is having a barbecue from 7-10 on Tuesday the 9th and Wednesday the 10th at their house!

Irvine improv March 9th! Phi tau meet and greet Feb 20th! April 30th is our formal in newport!
